1. Centralized backup of network computers:
In this example we can see the tipycal scheme of a local network backup. Uranium
Backup is installed on a central server where is installed a tape unit and/or a
DVD/Blu-Ray
burner. Uranium Backup copies on the server the data of various computers and then saves
that data to external media. Using a similar configuration, but installing
Uranium on each client, it is possible for each of them to create on the server a folder
named like the windows user, and so maintaining separated backups for each single user
of a domain.
2. Offsite backup: Uranium can upload files and folders to remote servers
(online backup):
In this scheme we can see how can be possible to schedule a periodic sending of
data (compressed backups or simple files) to a remote FTP server, to make them available for download by other computers
in a different geographic location.
This type of data delivery allows maximum automation in case we need to exchange
data between various offices of a company, using in addition an accurate scheduling.
Finally, you can also encrypt you sensitive data (they can be easy decrypted using
Uranium and knowing the encryption password) or you can use the SFTP/FTPS secure transfer protocols.
3. Backup of an unlimited number of local or remote database servers:
Uranium can make backup of an unlimited number of SQL Server databases, from
local or remote locations. You can schedule multiple and parallel backups of
local, network and remote database servers, without any service interruption
(hot backup). Uranium Backup also provides extended and advanced backup
features, like zip compression, AES 256 bit encryption, the possibility to
create custom backup file names (with timestamp) and several accurate checks.
You can copy SQL Server backup files to multiple destinations: you can save them
on Tape or DVD/Blu-Ray discs, you can transfer them via FTP or copy them to any
mass storage device (NAS, REV, RDX, external hard drives, etc...) (see also the related
tutorial).
4. Data compression and encryption and sending by e-mail to other computers:
Through this feature we can schedule multiple e-mail sending with reserved data
to an unlimited number of recipients. In fact Uranium is able to compress and encrypt
files or folders and send them by e-mail in fully automated manner and without require
other mail clients. E-mail recipients can decrypt data with Uranium only if they
know the encryption password.
5. Automated and scheduled download of entire web sites for local backup:

Uranium Backup can make, in a simple and powerful manner, several download
and upload tasks for any type of files, from and to FTP servers.
In the example shown in the image above, we can see how Uranium can download an
unlimited number of web sites to a local server, and then it can backup the
downloaded data to Tape/DVD, all of this in fully automated and scheduled manner
(see also the related tutorial).
5. Upload and update of entire web sites / web applications:

Since it is possible to make upload procedures without compression, Uranium
is able to transfer over the internet an unlimited number of files and folders maintaining
their original structure. Through this feature it is possible to make automatic
updates of entire web sites with a simple click. From this viewpoint Uranium can
be considered a very useful product for all webmasters and generally web developers,
because it allows considerable time saving.
